In 2012 as part of my MFA exhibition, I hired an actor to play a father.
I liked the idea of those in attendance realizing that someone among them was not … hmmm sincere might be the word.
I wrote a handful of scripts and decided on only using this one.
I’m always shocked at how muddled the view of the present can be. When I wrote and implemented this performance it didn’t even cross my mind that it had anything to do with the fact that my own father had died just two years before.
